One of our recent initiatives is the conversion of our permeation analyzer production to a lean line concept, which we brought to life in early 2023. Thanks to our embrace of lean line concepts, we’ve seen dramatic improvements in fabrication.
Since implementation, line efficiency has increased by 25% while throughput went up by 35%. Those speed and efficiency improvements mean lead times between customer orders and deliveries were cut in half, all while improving the product’s quality and testing performance.
In short, our permeation analyzer line has doubled its capacity without increasing its footprint while outputting products of even higher quality. How? Let’s break down what we did:
Lean Line Improvements
We began by carefully analyzing our existing permeation analyzer line, paying particular attention to its manufacturing sequence. By streamlining for maximum efficiency throughout the sequence, we eliminated production bottlenecks. Now, parts flow smoothly from one end of the line to the other.
As another part of the upgrade process, we integrated electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection to the line. Now the many PCBAs used in the permeation analyzer are shielded from damage throughout the assembly in a more convenient way that eliminates the possible risk of human error when guarding against ESD. Our latest precision torque equipment and high-res
leak detection technology facilitate the production of
tight-tolerance, meticulously built instruments.
